The Scottish Police Credit Union Ltd (SPCU) staff raised £1,500 for the St George’s Police Children Trust by wearing their festive jumpers!
SPCU Staff in their Christmas Jumpers
The SPCU decided that they wished to raise money for a police charity in the run-up to Christmas, and after approaching Chief Executive Officer, George Nedley, they chose to ‘dress down’ by wearing their Christmas jumpers on the five Fridays before Christmas.
Honorary Life President, Tom Rowatt, suggested that any monies raised would be donated to the St George’s Police Children Trust, which he remembered well from his previous life as an officebearer with the Scottish Police Federation.
All staff that joined in contributed £1 each on each of these Fridays & a ‘JustGiving’ page was also set up to allow members, friends and supporters of SPCU to contribute too.
The target which was set on the ‘JustGiving’ page was £1,000. Through the efforts of SPCU staff, visitors to their office and donations to the ‘JustGiving’ page, a total of £744 was raised. The staff was delighted when the SPCU Board of Directors agreed to match that and their donation brought the total up to £1,500.
SPCU staff derived a lot of fun and pleasure in the run-up to Christmas and they are pictured wearing their Christmas jumpers!
